The Blackfalds Bulldogs have announced the signing of 2008-born forward Theo Vantine for the 2026-2027 season.
Vantine, 17, who comes to Blackfalds from the city of St. Louis, Missouri, where he played U18AAA last season for the St. Louis AAA U18 Blues. Vantine, who stands six feet tall and weighs 183 pounds, played in 58 games for the Blues last season, where he had 23 goals and 52 assists for a total of 75 points.
He also suited up and played 12 games for Ladue Horton Watkins High in St. Louis, where he tallied 27 goals and 15 assists for 42 points last season. Vantine also played with the Blues in the U18AAA Circle K Tournament in Calgary last December, where he had 2 goals and 8 assists in 7 games to help his team win Gold at the tournament.
Bulldogs Director of Player Personnel, Al Parada, described what Vantine brings to Blackfalds, “Theo is a player who has elite skating ability, his speed makes him a threat every time he is on the ice, combine that with a very high hockey IQ, puck skills and the way he can shoot the puck, his transition to the BCHL should be quicker than most from U18.”
Vantine talked about why he chose Blackfalds to start his Junior career, “I decided I wanted to be a Bulldog because I truly felt that the team’s play and style really matched my game both offensively and defensively, and I am really excited for this great opportunity ahead of me.”
The Bulldogs would like to welcome Theo and his family to the organization and the Town of Blackfalds.
