Gabe Gratton Commits to Simon Fraser University

The Blackfalds Bulldogs are proud to announce the commitment of Gabe Gratton to Simon Fraser University.

Gratton was acquired in January of 2024 after spending the better part of three seasons in his hometown of Fort McMurray with the Oil Barons in the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL). He played in 17 regular season games and 3 playoff games with the Bulldogs.

Gratton was excited about the commitment, “It feels awesome to commit to a program like Simon Fraser and be able to continue playing hockey at a high level, while also getting a very good education.”

Gratton will play on the Simon Fraser Red Leafs non-conference team that competes in exhibition games against NCAA, USports, ACAC and ACHA teams.

Head Coach Doug Quinn said, “Gabe joined our team later in the year and was a valuable addition right from the start. Gabe gave us some goaltending depth and leadership in the dressing room.”

Quinn continued, “Gabe is well respected by his teammates and I’m very excited Gabe has the opportunity to get an education and continue his hockey career. The Bulldogs wish Gabe all the best!”

“I would like to thank my Family, Teammates, Coaches, Billets, and all other support staff for all of their help throughout the years helping me reach my goals” stated Gratton.

The entire Bulldogs organization would like to congratulate Gabe and his family on his commitment and wish him the best of luck at Simon Fraser University!
