Bulldogs Sign Lucas McDonald

The Blackfalds Bulldogs are pleased to announce the signing of 2007-born forward, Lucus McDonald, to a letter of intent for the 2024-25 season.

The New Westminster, British Columbia product plays for the Vancouver North East Chiefs U18 AAA team in the British Columbia Elite Hockey League (BCEHL).

McDonald scored 32 goals and 58 points in 34 games this season and helped lead the Chiefs to a BCEHL U18 AAA Championship. He had 4 goals and 9 points in the Chiefs’ seven playoff games. His team will play the winner of the Alberta Elite Hockey League (AEHL) for the Pacific Region Championship and a berth at the 2024 Telus Cup in Membertou, Nova Scotia.

Bulldogs’ Director of Hockey Operations, Al Parada, stated, “We are extremely excited to have Lucas continue his hockey journey with the Blackfalds Bulldogs next season.”

Parada continued, “Lucas was one of the top players in the BCEHL this season and finished 3rd in scoring in the league as a 16-year-old. Lucas is a highly skilled forward with a high hockey IQ and understanding of the game.

McDonald is excited about the opportunity, “I’d like to thank the Bulldogs organization for this incredible opportunity. I’m honoured and very excited to join the team for next season. I’ve heard great things about the program and can’t wait to contribute to Blackfalds.”

Parada added, “I am excited about what the future will bring for Lucas and his family as a Bulldog next season.”
